Message From the Executive Director

Leave Room in Your Heart for Angels to Dance!

The new year brings new successes as well as challenges for us at Caroline Hospice. I believe I truly work with Hospice Angels, women who gladly and compassionately encourage one to "live, live, live until you die." Our hospice is a happy place, warm and beautiful. Every inch of our Home has been recently repainted by our Caregivers. Come and visit us! A Homes Tour, including Caroline Hospice, is planned in the Spring. Would you offer your home?

We have been told by our families that patient care is at an all time high - thanks to our Resident Wing Manager Kathy Dukes and her wonderful Angel Hospice Caregivers. Did you know we also serve Hospice patients in the community who wish to stay in their own homes, as well as Pathways patients. If you are interested in learning more about these Hospice Services, please contact Linda Hayward at 410-479-3500. Linda is located in the Foundation and she manages the programs of Volunteers, Clergy, and Bereavement. To apply for Hospice call 410-820-6052.

Our community involvement has also been at an all time high, no doubt you have seen many articles about Hospice fundraisers, also known as "fun" raisers. As there is no charge to the patients we serve here, we depend on donations from individuals and fundraisers to pay the many expenses we have, including two Caregivers round-the-clock. Our Hospice Home also has the typical expenses that any homeowner has such as the mortgage, heat, electric, etc. We are grateful for the donations that have come our way, and we are dependent upon you in 2009.
